    have the verification interview with the assessors Score model The resulting scores are converted to an overall score in a so called settlement model with a particular weighing factor that will lie between 0 and 1000 points In determining the weighing factors the type of enterprise service production and or trade oriented is taken into account as well as its nature an enterprise can be a family business or part of a corporation The resulting weighing factors are determined in advance and are not made available to the assessors in order to ensure objectivity as much as possible Consequently the settlement model can be seen as a black box Reporting and feedback After the findings of the assessors are processed by means of the EC Standard they are reported back to the company in a written report A total of more than 60 policy aspects are included in the assessment For each policy aspect the score of the company according to the adopted assessment criteria is indicated as well as the strengths and weaknesses and the way they relate to the benchmark Possibly suggestions are made with which the organization can take the next step s in order to reach a higher strategic level Whether the enterprise has managed to score above or below the qualification level is indicated for each component Qualification and profiling If participants reach a score above 700 points they can call themselves a Qualified Company and if they achieve a score above 800 points they are a European Business Star Subsequently companies can use these qualifications to profile and distinguish themselves externally with the assistance of the EFBQ Qualified participants are entitled to display the EFBQ logo on their own websites writing paper etc These are available in different formats Process upon completion of the

    e knowing what you want and being able to realize what you want is placed against the benchmark and its relation to the Peer Group is examined on the basis of best practices Strategic framework First the participant is assessed on the strategic framework of the enterprise This encompasses all of the considerations that motivate the strategic choices and objectives What are the lines of thinking considerations insights vision and policy that have led to the choice for these objectives Are the objectives thoroughly motivated are they feasible and are all relevant considerations taken into account In this regard the methodology asks the most strategic questions that every enterprise should be able to answer A few examples of the policy aspects in the assessment of the strategic framework include Starting point The shareholder s s orders Main objective of the enterprise Etc Identity of the enterprise Current realization and experiences Strengths and weaknesses Ambition Core business Products services and concepts Current market position Etc Surroundings External developments Playground Opportunities and threats Etc Considerations Creation of value Desired position in the chain Mission Etc Resultant considerations Objectives Focal points Priorities Implementation The assessment of the strategic framework examines whether the condition of knowing what you want is met whereas the assessment of the implementation of the objectives in the various business units and levels also examines whether an enterprise is able to realize what it wants This assessment focuses on coherence consistency monitoring adjustment and focus on the intended objectives among other things and illustrates how these aspects relate to the other participants in the EFBQ Peer Group The policy aspects in the assessment of the implementation of the strategic framework include Marketing and sales Markets Buyers Product market policy Etc Operations Production process Capacity Logistics Purchasing Research Development Etc Human

    the strategic policy pertain to the strategic orders of the shareholders Surroundings Does the management understand factors determined by the surroundings Realization Has the management demonstrated an adequate insight vision and policy with regard to the strategic framework in recent years Insight Analysis Do the board and management team have an adequate insight that does not only stem from a gut feeling but that is also based on regular and recently conducted analyses of the internal and external surroundings Ambition Is the management able to clarify their ambitions in the short term and in the long run Considerations Does the management have insight into their considerations that influence the formulation of the strategic policy Are these considerations sufficiently included in the formulation of the policy Objectives Have SMART objectives been formulated with which the organization can be managed in a result oriented way Result Have the intended objectives actually been realized and or have changing circumstances been adequately anticipated Implementation In the assessment of the strategic framework the emphasis of the benchmark is on the following criteria Framework Does the management have insight into the strategic framework within which the task objective s of the own department should be realized Realization Has the management demonstrated an adequate insight vision and policy with regard to the various policy aspects in recent years Insight Analysis Does the management have an adequate insight that does not only stem from a gut feeling but that is also based on conducted analyses of the internal and external surroundings Action Is the policy concretely elaborated in plans of action Communication Are the internal and external communication sufficiently supportive of the business operations Monitoring Are the statuses of the objectives and the plans of action being sufficiently monitored Adjustment Are adjustments in the realization of the objectives

    the participant and to possibly adjust the EFBQ services An entire benchmark will not be performed for a Business Review but it will be followed up with written feedback that will contain new and or additional points of improvement This allows the management to prepare for the next assessment during the rest of the improvement process EFBQ Management lunch dinner Participation in the EFBQ network is partly intended to encourage the development of the management both individually and on the level of the management team The interaction within the board and or management team might not be perfectly smooth there might not be enough agreed upon focus points the team might be too heavily focused on the operational level or a very complex and or controversial decision might have to be taken In that case the EFBQ Assessment Centre will arrange a chairman who will support the management team in finding a solution The EFBQ participant is responsible for finding a location and organizing the meeting Workshop Quick Start The EFBQ Quick Start module is a management tool that is particularly suitable for enterprises that operate in a highly dynamic market Therefore quite a few companies are currently using it
