  • Is WebAssembly the next big thing in web development? - Blog - Mavention
next new thing WebAssembly WebAssembly or wasm for short is intended to be the new binary format for the web Its most like the NET bytecode which is running much faster than JavaScript or even asm js It s also designed to be extensible to make it easy to create and add dynamic and interactive websites And it is already available on the github com WebAssembly website WebAssembly is not intended to be a replacement for JavaScript it is a new feature of JavaScript engines that builds on their infrastructures Due that JavaScript is widely accepted and used it will remain as dynamic web language JavaScript seems as much a cornerstone of the web as C is to conventional software For the old browsers wasm works and be made available due a plyfill a JavaScript that will convert wasm to asm js Either the browser will interpret the wasm directly or it will load the polyfill and execute the resulting asm js Native handling should be faster but the polyfill means that a developer can be sure that a wasm program will always work Due the fact that large companies like Microsoft Google and Mozilla are behind this new standard

  • SharePoint Add-in URL fragments (hash, #) removed from URL when logged in onto Windows Azure - Blog - Mavention
direct URL to the App where working like expected Looking deeper into the authentication process that Office365 is using I now understand why this is happening Office365 and many others are using OpenID Connect which is based on OAuth2 This is a widely used authentication method used by Microsoft Google Facebook More in depth information about OpenID Connect can be found in the FAQ on the openid website The reason why in this case the URL fragments are removed has all to do with the authentication flow When the user is accessing the App and needs to be authenticated the App sends the user to the authentication server After you authenticated the authentication server sends the user back to the App URL including the access token in the URL fragment And this is why your own URL fragment is lost Sending the access token in the URL fragment is done on purpose and in fact a security mechanism Implicit Flow Threats As you know the changing of a URL fragment is not causing a request back to the webserver Even better the complete URL fragment is never send by the browser to the webserver The client access token is never written into the webserver logs So this is a secure place to communicate the access token back to the browser And client side scripting can use this token for communicating directly with the secure services Getting things to work Now we know this we need to somehow provide the URL data to the App A few option you have The most obvious is not using the URL fragments for page routing But not in all cases this is a solution Definitely when you are using the single page application technique Send the state of the App with the request for

  • DON’T REJOIN TO FIX: The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed - Blog - Mavention
it s a meaning of time until your SharePoint server does not trust his own AD All existing sites are working just fine but I mostly notice this when I m start to create a new site collection because this fails You can also see this behavior also in the SharePoint people picker because it cannot find any accounts anymore Just change your computer password using netdom exe netdom exe

  • I use Fiddler on a regular basis to debug HTTP sessions - Blog - Mavention
I use Fiddler to change the response with the data of a file I have locally saved When I then make a change on my locally stored files the changes directly become available as if they were changed on the server This saves me time because I do not have to deploy the Add in anymore and I get direct feedback This all sounds quite complicated but in fact it s very simple using Fiddler Keep your fiddler running when requesting the page and find the file you like to change By selecting the request in the left window you then can use the Add Rule button on the AutoResponder tab to add this request to the response list You now can select the desired local file Rule Editor that contains all your changes and press the Save button to save the changes An important setting is to check both Enable automatic responses and Unmatched requests passthrough checkboxes By now refreshing the page your request will respond with the new files witch are stored locally In my example I like to change the App css file and return the App css stored locally What you might noticed in the screenshot that I changed the request URL from EXACT https mavention1nl 27798620f05bf5 sharepoint com sites mavimdemo MavimPublication Content App css v 1000 to a shorter version like sites mavimdemo MavimPublication Content App css v 1000 I did this because when I do install the SharePoint Add in again on the server I will get a new URL Therefor I removed the first part of the URL One thing that I really recommend when selecting respond file in my case D Source App css Is to select the file from the location where your source control storages the files that you are
