  • Lambda expression include error - Blog - Mavention
can be found in the Office AMS Core FieldAndContentTypeExtensions cs In our provider hosted app we had entities that carried the same name as the entities in the SharePoint Client Object Model This meant the class responsible for creating the taxonomy fields is called TaxonomyField To avoid confusions when building or maintaining the code the decision was made to implement a using alias for the SharePoint client assembly using SP Microsoft SharePoint Client While implementing the GetDefaultTermStore code from the App Model Samples into our project a code error was indicated by Visual Studio The error was Cannot convert lambda expression to type System Linq Expressions Expression System Func Microsoft SharePoint Client Taxonomy TaxonomySession object because it is not a delegate type I knew the code was correct as it worked in the App Model Samples After investigating the problem it turned out that our decision to use a using alias was the bottleneck Implementing the using directive without an alias solves the error message To solve the issue in our code we implemented two using directives one with and one without an alias We can now indicate which classes are originating from the SharePoint client object model and which

the Azure Queue storage service eventually the Azure Worker role would be added to the set To debug the first two locally you can make use of the Windows Azure Storage emulator by the time of writing this was installed on our development machines via the Windows Azure 2 2 SDK While running the project against the local development storage we run into a 400 Bad Request error when connecting to the tables or the queues Digging into this error we found that the Windows Azure Storage Client installed via a NuGet package was of version 3 1 0 0 and the emulator did not support this yet On the Microsoft download site there is a preview version of the Windows Azure storage emulator available version 2 2 1 While looking at the details of this package it described the problem we were experiencing Updated DLL s for Storage Emulator included in SDK 2 2 which add support for REST version 2013 08 15 to the Storage Emulator This allows Storage Emulator to be used by version 3 0 and later of Windows Azure Storage Client Library for NET After installing this update we could successfully connect to the local

  • Mavention Last Modified Documents available in the Office Store - Blog - Mavention
often have at least read permissions on a fair amount of content on the portal just retrieving the last modified documents will give a less useful overview By looking at the sites people follow you will get an overview more related to the user In order to use the SharePoint Search capabilities with this app you have to do some manual configuration Upon installation of the app these steps will also be described on the app web the steps are Go to your Search Service Application and click Manage Search Schema Search for RefinableDate00 and from the context menu select Edit Map property Then click the Add a Mapping button search for ows q DATE Modified and select the ows q DATE Modified property Click on the OK button to commit the changes Make sure you have a few followed sites with content After adding the above mapping you need to perform a full crawl for the changes to take effect When you are using Office 365 it can take some time before the changes take effect as you cannot start a full crawl yourself The app part gives you some configurable options The first is the managed search property

  • Easily publishing release versions of web applications to Azure Web Apps with Git, Gulp and Kudu - Blog - Mavention
your node modules in source control the first step for the build process is to install all node packages including Gulp line 1 call npm install Next we execute the Gulp dist task line 4 which currently only copies application files to the dist folder but which in a real life scenario could for example transpile and minify script and stylesheet files call gulp dist Next we clear the contents of the wwwroot folder to remove the old version of our web application Kudu passes the path to the wwwroot folder in the DEPLOYMENT TARGET variable which we can conveniently use in our script lines 7 and 8 del q DEPLOYMENT TARGET for d x in DEPLOYMENT TARGET do rd s q x Finally we copy the contents of the dist folder to the wwwroot folder of the Azure Web App line 11 xcopy DEPLOYMENT SOURCE dist DEPLOYMENT TARGET Y E The dist folder is generated in the repository folder which contains all code we pushed to the Git repository backing our Azure Web App Kudu passes the path to the repository folder using the DEPLOYMENT SOURCE variable The batch file also includes some instrumentation so that the build process is cancelled should an error occurre at any given point Registering the custom batch file with Kudu Having created the batch file to execute our build process and copy its output to the wwwroot folder the last thing left is to instruct Kudu to use this file in its build process To do this create a new file called deployment note the leading dot in the filename in the root of your repository and enter the following contents config command deploy cmd Next time you push a commit to the Git repository backing your Azure Web App Kudu will use your custom script to build and release your web application Testing the custom deployment with Git Gulp and Kudu Let s put the newly created deployment process to test Let s start with cloning the sample repo I shared on GitHub Next create a new Azure Web App and set its Continuous deployment to the local Git repository step by step instructions for doing this are available on Elio s blog Next copy the Git clone url of your newly created Azure Web App and add it as a remote repository to your project git remote add azure prod url Let s test the deployment process by changing the contents of the index html file and committing the changes locally Next let s push the changes to the azure prod remote repository When pushing the commit to the Azure Web App you will notice that the process takes a little longer This is caused by the custom build process being executed directly after the commit has been pushed If the custom deployment process worked as expected you should see in the output the different steps of the process Additionally your latest changes should be now released to your Azure Web
