    68 Labor Health Education and Development 26 Macroeconomics and International Economics 34 Show all 346 List by subject No subjects available Show all 346 News archive 2012 1 2013 93 2014 120 2015 118 2016 15 Show all 346 Article Adam Booij has been awarded the Van der Schroeffprijs 2015 TI congratulates junior fellow Adam Booij who has been awarded the Van der Schroeffprijs 2015 for best Economics and Business Lecturer at the New Year s assembly of the faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Amsterdam on January 14 This year s jury members were Han van Dissel dean Anne Keegan TI fellow Massimo Giuliodori Peter van Baalen and Samantha van den Hoek FSR They combined submitted nominations with the results of course evaluations to select three excellent candidates for the award The jury report contained the following comments Adam deserves this award for his exceptional efforts to improve education for economics students in subject of econometrics Students learn to master this extremely complex material thanks to Adam s clear lecture notes excellent teaching skills and his unbridled enthusiasm He was successful in making the master s course in Applied Econometrics much more interesting and attractive for students He also made the course correspond better to the current state of literature in this subject His final lecture is always met with a standing ovation The changes that Adam initiated have ensured that the pass rate for has increased dramatically and we have also observed that they have a noticeably better command of the material in subsequent courses The purpose of the Van der Schroeff award is to stimulate the quality of teaching at Economics and Business The award is named after Prof H J van der Schroeff as a tribute to his exceptional lectures on a wide
